Suel Anglin
Suel Anglin, the product specialist and resident chef for American Quality Foods, brings with him a wide range of experience and expertise in the food service industry. Joining us in 2005, his unique style and attention to detail has made him an essential part of our team.
Suel attended Appalachian State University, where he majored in biology and chemistry, and completed an internship in hospitality management. This diversified blend of skills has contributed to his innovative and pioneering style.
While growing up in rural North Carolina, Suel’s passion for cooking developed early in life. Surrounded by very talented cooks in his family, he was especially inspired by his Grandmother, who took great pride in preparing meals. “She would create multi-layered banquets using her wood stove,” Suel reminisces, “and because of my Grandfather’s political connections, she didn’t know whether to expect 5 or 15 for dinner. She was prepared for anything.”
His formal training began with Gabrielle’s at Richmond Hill Inn, the recipient of the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award for 16 consecutive years. While there, he created an outstanding wine list that has received the Award of Excellence from the Wine Spectator Magazine. His next venture was at Horizons, the flagship restaurant of the Grove Park Inn Resort and Spa. Acknowledged by Frommer’s as “the finest in the area,” Suel managed the fine dining restaurant and again developed a wine list which was recognized. Four years later, his culinary journey continued at the renowned Biltmore House and Gardens, where he managed The Dining Room at the Inn on Biltmore Estates; an esteemed establishment which has received several accolades including: the AAA Four Diamond Award, the Mobile Travel Guide Four Star Award, and the Award of Excellence by Wine Spectator Magazine in 2008.
Suel’s enthusiasm and dedication to quality has been a great addition to American Quality Foods. Using both his background in chemistry combined with his talent for cooking, Suel continues to create outstanding sugar free dessert products that surpass all the competition in taste and quality. He is constantly evaluating new, healthy ingredients to develop delicious desserts with the least amount of calories, fats, and sugars, all without sacrificing great taste.
