In the future, cruise passengers who want to have their cake and stay healthy can go right ahead. American Quality Foods, a leading wholesale manufacturer of healthier dessert and drink mixes, is expanding into the cruise industry.
With over 5,000 food service accounts across the United States, American Quality Foods began as a producer of high quality, satisfying desserts for diabetics. But the company has found a much broader audience of food service clients who want healthy but great-tasting desserts.
“Our dessert mixes are a good match for the cruise industry,” said Kathy Milner, President and Founder of American Quality Foods.
“All of our mixes are easy to make by simply adding water or milk, and in some cases oil, and then chilling or baking,” added Milner. “The result is a high-end dessert that tastes rich and freshly made.”
The expansion into the cruise industry will allow the company to meet customer demands for its delicious, diet desserts away from home. Currently, American Quality Foods products are available nationally to hospital and health care clients, churches, premiere retirement communities, hospitality management companies, corporate dining facilities and casinos, as well as individuals.
With over 100 different desserts, toppings, drinks and fillings, American Quality Foods focuses on quality, taste, nutrition, texture and visual appeal. The company employs 35 people and continues to grow annually as consumers look for healthier dessert options.
Begun as an entrepreneurial endeavor by Milner in Vermont in 1994, American Quality Foods manufactures all of its own dessert products using exclusive recipes developed through Milner’s extensive research and passion for excellence. The sales, packaging and distribution operations are all located in the scenic town of Mills River, N.C. Additional information may be found by visiting www.americanqualityfoods.com
