Founded in 1994, American Quality Foods is the fulfillment
of Kathy Milner's vision and commitment to create the best tasting, gluten-free
and diet dessert mixes for foodservice professionals. Starting from her home in
the quaint town of Newfane, Vermont, with three employees, American Quality Foods
has grown into a multimillion-dollar operation near Asheville, North Carolina,
with a staff of 35 employees.
The original purpose of the company was to fill a need for nursing
home diabetics who had very few options for delicious-tasting, diet desserts.
Kathy's unrelenting commitment to quality, combined with her education and
experience in polymer chemistry, led to her creation of over 110 scrumptious,
gluten-free or diet, low-fat dessert recipes. The response was tremendous and
our customers now encompass thousands of facilities.
We manufacture all of our healthier dessert products using our own
exclusive recipes developed through Kathy's extensive research and great
passion for excellence. After outgrowing two buildings, American Quality Foods
recently built a new, 17,000 square-foot manufacturing facility and office, and
we tripled our production capacity by adding state-of-the-art blending and
packaging equipment. The sales, packaging and distribution operations are all
located in the scenic town of Mills River, North Carolina.
