As long as your freezer maintains a steady temperature of 0°F, AQF's gluten free mixes can be safely frozen indefinitely.
Quality, however, will eventually deteriorate. The “Storage Time” below estimates how long frozen
foods will retain quality.
Baked Good | Special Tips | Storage Time | Thawing Hints |
Yellow or Chocolate Cake | Mix and bake according to package directions. Cool completely. Wrap unfrosted cake in airtight, moisture-proof wrap. Place in cake containers or bakery boxes to prevent crushing. | 2 months | Thaw at room temperature, covered, 2 to 3 hours. Frost and serve. |
Fudge Brownie | Mix and bake according to package directions. Cool completely. Wrap brownies in airtight, moisture-proof wrap. | 2 to 3 months | Thaw at room temperature, covered, 1 to 2 hours. For a cleaner cut, cut brownies after 20 minutes (while still frozen), then allow to continue thawing before serving. |
Chocolate Chip, Chocolate, Oatmeal or Sugar Cookies | Mix according to package directions. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a #40 scoop, scoop the cookie dough onto the baking sheet. Freeze loosely covered at least 6 hours or overnight, then place dough balls in a plastic freezer bag or other container. | 2 months | Thaw at room temperature 15 to 20 minutes and bake according to package directions. |
Blueberry or Cinnamon Crunch Muffin | Mix and bake according to package directions. Cool completely. Place the muffins in a large freezer bag, removing air completely. | 2 to 3 months | Thaw at room temperature 30 minutes to 1 hour; OR reheat by placing frozen muffins back in the muffin tin. Reheat in a conventional oven preheated to 350°F for 10 to 15 minutes. |
